It is important to remember that the only constant in the
world of locums is change. Let’s be
honest, there are often times when you show up to an assignment and it is not
what your recruiter represented to you.
Most likely this occurs because the job description was hurried by the
facility looking for coverage. Most
locum physicians are adaptable and used to change, and it helps to have an open
mind when first going into a new location.
A good rule of thumb is to communicate any parameters you are not
willing to work outside of to your recruiter up front, and to again communicate
with your recruiter during the first few days of your new assignment to let
them know how everything is going as well as how accurate the job description
is.
