Well folks, it’s that time again… the wintertime swing.
“What’s the wintertime swing, John?” you ask.
Well I’ll tell you: it’s that time of year where hospital recruitment efforts are in their dormancy, docs are taking less vacations and client activity hits a valley. It’s the nature of the game: in the spring and summer we have more jobs than we can find physicians for, and in the fall and winter, more doctors.
It always causes an interesting pressure in our office because, right now, the recruiters are on edge, begging the marketers for more jobs. Oh you just wait, kind recruiters, you just wait. Soon, the spring and summer will be here ushering in spring break, summer vacation and Labor Day; facilities will be ramping up their recruiting efforts and the locums marketing factory will be pounding out jobs faster than physicians can accept them.
It’s part of the locum tenens world and, in a way, it helps spread the pressure out over the different roles here at Delta Locum Tenens. Sometimes the pressure is on the marketers, sometimes the recruiters. It makes for an equal workplace and if you don’t like the way it is now, wait a little while—it will swing back.
